This low-intervention white wine is a pure varietal expression of riesling produced by Jintaro Yura in Alsace. Sourced from sustainably managed vineyard plots rich in complex mineral soils, the fruit is harvested at optimal maturity. The winemaking features a gentle manual press and completely spontaneous fermentation driven by native wild yeasts in neutral tanks. The wine undergoes a natural maturation process on its fine lees to safeguard pure varietal focus and regional mineral tension.

It pours a clear straw color, opening with high-toned aromatics of oyster shell, zesty citrus peel, and fresh orchard fruits. On the palate, a sleek, medium-bodied frame balances deep fruit volume with an underlying razor-sharp line of natural acidity. The striking tension across the mouthfeel coordinates nicely with a distinctive, unforgettable note of fresh tangerine. Clear flavors of green apple add depth across the textured center. It concludes with a dry, long-lasting, and elegant finish.

Jintaro Yura brings a distinctly Japanese sense of precision and restraint to Alsace. Born in Tokyo to a family connected to French restaurants, he first worked as a sommelier before studying wine and training in New Zealand, Burgundy, Japan and Alsace. After time with important organic and biodynamic estates including Josmeyer and Hurst, he launched his own small Domaine Yura project in 2020. Working with organically farmed fruit and modest quantities, he uses native yeasts, minimal additions and a mix of vessels to craft Pinot Blanc, Riesling and Pinot Noir that emphasize purity, texture, umami and quiet balance.
