Benedicte & Stephane Tissot Cremant du Jura Indigene NV
TissotGrape: Chardonnay
Vintage: NV
Type: Sparkling
The Bénédicte & Stéphane Tissot Crémant du Jura Indigène NV is a beautifully crafted sparkling wine that reveals the Tissot's dedication to natural winemaking and the unique terroir of Jura. This Crémant, made with indigenous yeasts and minimal intervention, offers a complex and expressive profile. Expect to find a delicate interplay of crisp orchard fruits, such as apple and pear, layered with subtle citrus notes and hints of white flowers. The extended lees contact contributes to a subtle brioche and nutty character, while the distinct mineral backbone, reflective of the Jura's limestone soils, adds a chalky, almost flinty nuance. The wine's vibrant acidity and fine, persistent bubbles create a refreshing and elegant mouthfeel, culminating in a dry, lingering finish that speaks of its pure, terroir-driven origins.
Stéphane Tissot and his wife Bénédicte have 35 hectares of vineyards “cultivated in bio-dynamic viticulture (certified by Demeter) to allow the soils to live, to have grapes untouched by chemical products, to allow natural yeast fermentations, to reduce the doses of sulfur in the cellar.”
They produce truly unique, terroir-driven natural wines, wines we love, admire, and cherish. These are without doubt some of our most prized wines.
André and Mireille Tissot founded their estate in 1962, in the village of Montigny-les-Arsures, in the Jura. Stéphane took over from his father with a new vision and converted it to chemical-free farming, organic and then biodynamic. They are meticulous in their farming and in the cellar, producing up to 28 unique cuvees.
A wine made with love and passion produces an emotion... You can find in a wine the personality and the character of those who made it because each gesture, each operation, each decision has its importance.
