Sorgente Prosecco NV
SorgenteGrape: Glera
Vintage: NV
Type: Sparkling
This non-vintage sparkling white wine is crafted by small-scale organic growers within the Grave del Friuli region. The fruit grows on water-rich, limestone-heavy soils that shape the clean varietal character of the glera grape. Unlike industrial processing houses that prioritize speed, the production utilizes a slow secondary fermentation to naturally generate finer, more persistent bubbles. This low-intervention process focuses on capturing mineral transparency and aromatic integrity over simple commercial sweetness.
It pours a bright straw-yellow color with an energetic stream of bubbles, opening with clean aromatics of green apple and fresh white blossoms. A lightweight and crisp frame balances juicy orchard fruits with an underlying hint of wet stone minerality. A lively wave of natural acidity cuts cleanly through the mousse, keeping the fluid mouthfeel thoroughly refreshed. It concludes with a bone-dry, mouthwatering finish that acts as an ideal starter for an outdoor feast.
This Friuli-Venezia Giulia based Prosecco wine is a unique collaboration with The Source. Void of all herbicides and pesticides, and grown on limestone and clay mixed with river alluvium, all the grapes are harvested by hand (a rarity with Prosecco DOC wine).
Sorgente Prosecco comes from a six hectare parcel of Glera vines located in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and a solid golf shot away from the Veneto border to the west, the vineyards sit only a few hundred meters from the natural spring (called sorgente in Italian) at the nascita of the Livenza River. Interestingly, we chose the name Sorgente because it means “Source” in Italian.
