Grape: Glera
Vintage: NV
Type: Sparkling

This organic sparkling white wine is a pure varietal expression of glera produced by small-scale growers in Friuli. Sourced from the water-rich, limestone-heavy soils of the Grave del Friuli, the grapes are farmed organically without synthetic pesticides or herbicides. The winemaking utilizes low-intervention protocols, featuring a gentle hand-harvesting and a spontaneous primary fermentation driven by native wild yeasts. Unlike industrial production houses, the estate utilizes an intentionally slow second fermentation inside pressurized tanks to create finer bubbles.

It pours a straw color with a fine, persistent stream of elegant bubbles, focusing on mineral purity. The nose opens with clean aromatics of green apple, lemon flesh, pear, and fresh white orchard flowers. A lightweight and crisp frame balances juicy fruit flavors with an underlying vein of mineral snap. A lively wave of natural acidity runs through the center, keeping the fluid mouthfeel thoroughly refreshed and easy to gulp.

This Friuli-Venezia Giulia based Prosecco wine is a unique collaboration with The Source. Void of all herbicides and pesticides, and grown on limestone and clay mixed with river alluvium, all the grapes are harvested by hand (a rarity with Prosecco DOC wine).

Sorgente Prosecco comes from a six hectare parcel of Glera vines located in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and a solid golf shot away from the Veneto border to the west, the vineyards sit only a few hundred meters from the natural spring (called sorgente in Italian) at the nascita of the Livenza River. Interestingly, we chose the name Sorgente because it means “Source” in Italian.
