“Miranius”, which translates loosely into Catalan as “peers into nests”, a tribute to the foxes which sometimes roam their biodiverse vineyards looking for a snack, is 100% Xarel·lo. Fermentation proceeds spontaneously in stainless steel, and the wine rests on its fine lees in steel for six months before being bottled. “Miranius” displays the brisk, agile side of Xarel·lo, a variety whose relatively neutral fruit character allows for a powerful articulation of calcareous minerality. Xarel·lo’s naturally high acidity brings balance in this warm Mediterranean climate, and indeed this wine is bright, saline, and immensely refreshing, as well as a tremendous value.

In 1924, Josep Mata Capellades stepped into the world of sparkling wines as an apprentice bottle riddler and disgorgement specialist in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia. That first step marked the beginning of a story of entrepreneurship and a deep connection to the land—one that continues today with the third generation of the Recaredo family. From the very beginning, our philosophy has been rooted in respect for the vineyard and artisanal production of vintage Brut Nature sparkling wines, with manual disgorgement and long ageing. A century later, the innovative spirit of our founder lives on through family-led projects that explore the Penedès from different perspectives but share the same essence: authenticity and sustainability. A still white wine project born from the same family-driven curiosity and devotion to the land. At Celler Credo, we work with Mediterranean and native varieties, with xarel·lo as the central pillar, crafting wines that offer an honest expression of the Penedès. No chemicals or herbicides are used—100% of our grapes come from organically farmed vineyards, and some also follow biodynamic practices. We create living wines, with character, deeply rooted in the land.
