Pedro Parra is a Chilean geologist and terroir consultant whose own wines in Itata have become a vivid expression of granite, old vines and southern Chile's dry-farmed heritage. After years advising major estates around the world, Parra returned to focus on Cinsault, Pais and other old-vine material planted around Guarilihue and nearby villages. His approach begins with the ground: decomposed granite, quartz, slope and root depth. The wines are fermented with restraint, often with whole clusters and older vessels, aiming for energy rather than weight. They are fragrant, stony and direct, showing Chile beyond Cabernet and beyond industrial scale.
