Fazenda Pradio Tinto 2021
Fazenda PacioGrape: Mencía
Vintage: 2021
Type: Red
Produced from hand-harvested mencía grapes on granitic hillsides in Ribeira Sacra, this red wine represents a classic look at local viticulture. Winemaker Xabi Seoane manages the estate, utilizing spontaneous fermentation with native wild yeasts in neutral concrete vats. Winemaking focuses on manual techniques to capture site specificity and raw varietal expression from steep granite slopes. Maturing naturally without filtration, this bottling delivers a clean, mineral-driven structural profile.
It shows a bright ruby color, releasing focused aromas of wild raspberry, tart red cherry, and a faint hint of cedar shavings. On the palate, the light-to-medium body is juicy and direct, focusing on an energetic red fruit presentation. Fine-grained, soft tannins provide a smooth framework that coordinates nicely with a sharp wave of natural acidity. Subtle notes of ground pepper add a savory depth across the mid-palate. It finishes completely dry, crisp, and persistent.
