Grape: Pinot Noir
Vintage: 2020
Type: Red

This natural red wine is crafted by Pierre Fenals from a minuscule plot of less than zero-point-five hectares within the Les Clos Roussots vineyard. The old pinot noir vines grow on rocky white topsoils containing marlstone and sandstone, managed strictly under biodynamic viticulture protocols. Spontaneous fermentation relies entirely on native vineyard wild yeasts with whole bunches inside traditional neutral wooden tuns. It matures for eighteen months in used French oak barrels and is bottled without filtration or added sulfur.

It exhibits a clear ruby hue, releasing clean aromatics of dark apple berries, underwood spices, and baked plum. On the palate, the medium-bodied frame is supple and fluid, focusing on a dynamic fruit presentation. Fine-grained, soft tannins provide a subtle structural grip that coordinates nicely with a clean wave of natural acidity. Savory underscores of fine aromatic herbs add depth across the mid-palate core. It concludes bone-dry, leaving a persistent trail.
