This old-vine red wine is sourced from the walled Le Clos vineyard in Fleurie, presented in a magnum format. The ancient Gamay bush vines grow in deep pink granite soils managed under strict certified organic viticulture protocols. Winemaker Jean-Louis Dutraive co-ferments the whole clusters naturally using native wild yeasts in large neutral wooden vats. The wine then matures in neutral French oak barrels to allow the structural components to integrate naturally without wood interference.

It pours a dark ruby hue, opening with expressive aromatics of wild blackberry, dark plum, and savory garden herbs. On the palate, a medium-bodied frame provides a balanced contrast between juicy dark fruit and firm structure. A lively, integrated acidity keeps the palate refreshed while preventing any heavy or jammy notes. Grippy, fine-grained tannins build a textured mouthfeel that carries through the mid-palate. It finishes completely dry, leaving a savory trace of stone.
