Finca Adalgisa
$100.00

Grape: Malbec
Vintage: 2018
Type: Red

This 2018 Malbec from Finca Adalgisa offers a sophisticated and elegant expression of the varietal. On the nose, it presents a complex bouquet of dark fruit, including blackberry and plum, layered with notes of baking spices, licorice, and a subtle earthiness. The palate is well-structured and balanced, with integrated tannins and a medium body. Flavors of ripe red and black fruit are complemented by a hint of cedar and dried leaves, leading to a long, polished finish. This wine, with its refined character, showcases a more "Old World" style of Malbec.

Finca Adalgisa is a boutique wine hotel and small winery located in the Chacras de Coria area of Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina. Housed in a converted 20th-century manor, the property is famous for its history, hospitality, and a very limited production of high-quality Malbec. The vineyards were first planted in 1916 by the Italian-Argentine Furlotti-Moretti family, which has owned the property for generations. In 2002, the family converted the estate into a hotel to preserve its historic Malbec vines from urban expansion. The winery's single product is a Malbec made from the century-old vines on the property. The winemaking is handled by renowned local winemaker Carmelo Patti, who prioritizes balance and terroir. The wine is aged in the bottle before release. Finca Adalgisa is considered one of Argentina's smallest wineries, producing less than 500 cases of Malbec per year. The wine is exclusively available to guests of the hotel.
