This red wine comes from Block E, Littorai's steep, due-south parcel at Wendling Vineyard in the Deep End, the coolest corner of Anderson Valley and its closest vineyard to the Pacific. The site was open pasture until 2009, when Littorai and grower Paul Ardzrooni ran a soils study across the 20 acres and Littorai took first choice of parcels. Planted in 2010 to 11 selections, much of the budwood from Littorai's own vineyards, the vines root into shallow sandy loam over sandstone and shale. The Block E name joined the label in 2016 to set this parcel apart.
