This red wine comes from The Haven, Littorai's original estate vineyard, 4 acres at 1,200 feet on an east-west ridge between Occidental and the Pacific. Planted in 2001, the south-facing slope holds about 40 rootstock and clonal combinations across soils that shift from uplifted undersea volcanics to sandstone, shale, and serpentine loam. It is cool and late ripening, one of the last sites Littorai picks each year. The Haven is the Sonoma Coast's range of soils packed into a single small block.
