This red wine comes from Roman Vineyard, a hilltop knoll at 1,150 feet in the middle of Anderson Valley, less than 3 miles southeast of Navarro. The vines, planted in 1999 to Dijon 114, 667, and a proprietary selection, sit just above the fog line in Boont loam over sandstone, fully exposed to the coastal winds. The lean sandstone keeps yields to about 2.2 tons per acre. Roman is the structured, perfumed hilltop of Littorai's Anderson Valley range.
