Lillian Cabernet Sauvignon Magnum
LillianGrape: Cabernet Sauvignon
Vintage: NV
Type: Red
This red wine is Maggie Harrison's cabernet sauvignon under her Lillian label, a project she built after 8 years in the Sine Qua Non cellar, first from a piece of White Hawk Vineyard and later expanded to Howell Mountain fruit. Harrison's goal across Lillian is to take noble, sun-grown varieties and raise them for lift and transparency rather than density. The wines are fermented on native yeast and bottled unfined and unfiltered. The label carries no vintage, only the abstract piano-key art the project uses in place of a conventional design.
It displays a deep garnet color, opening with blackcurrant, graphite, and a faint cedar note. On the palate, the medium-bodied frame favors finesse over power, balancing dark fruit against a fine, integrated tannin structure. Acidity is bright and keeps the wine from tasting heavy despite the ripeness of the fruit. Texture stays elegant rather than dense throughout. It finishes long and polished, restrained where a typical mountain cabernet would push for weight.
