Lady of the Sunshine Chevey White Blend 2025
Lady of the SunshineGrape: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay
Vintage: 2025
Type: White
This white wine is a cool-climate blend of sauvignon blanc and chardonnay inspired by traditional Cheverny models. Gina Giugni sources fruit from the organic Rancho Arroyo Grande Vineyard, bolstered by biodynamic chardonnay from the coastal Bassi Vineyard. Grapes are harvested in separate picks, foot-tread to soak overnight on the skins, and whole-bunch pressed into neutral French oak barrels. The juice ferments natively and matures on its fine lees for eight months.
It pours a pale, hazy straw color, balancing bright lemon zest and grassy crunch with a fleshier layer of white peach. On the palate, a crystalline streak of coastal salinity cuts through a subtly creamy, rounded texture from lees aging. The interplay of crisp citrus oil and gentle weight keeps the mid-palate delightfully fluid. Fine structural definition shapes the mouthfeel without any heavy or buttery notes. It finishes long and bone-dry.
Lady of the Sunshine is the California project of Gina Giugni, a second-generation biodynamic farmer and winemaker based on the Central Coast. Raised at her family's Scar of the Sea and Chene vineyards orbit, she created Lady of the Sunshine to focus on regenerative farming and wines that feel transparent, coastal and alive. Her own Chene Vineyard in Edna Valley is farmed organically and biodynamically, while purchased fruit comes from growers with similar values. The wines, often Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gamay and playful blends, are made with native yeasts and minimal additions, favoring brightness, texture and a clean imprint of cool Pacific air.
