Gut Oggau Maskerade Weiss
Gut OggauGrape: Grüner Veltliner, Weissburgunder, Welschriesling
Vintage: NV
Type: White
This white wine is a field blend of grüner veltliner, weissburgunder, and welschriesling, grown together on gravel and limestone at Oggau in Burgenland. The fruit is hand-harvested, destemmed, and fermented in large used barrels, then rests about 8 months without stirring. It is bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with no added sulfur, under crown cap. It is Gut Oggau's easy-drinking, everyday white.
It pours a hazy pale straw, opening with green apple, pear, and lemon peel. On the palate, the light-bodied frame balances crisp fruit with white flowers and fresh herbs. A chalky mineral note sits underneath. Bright acidity keeps it snappy and refreshing. It finishes dry, savory, and clean.
