This single-vineyard red wine is a pure varietal expression of tempranillo produced from an ancient plot where clay soils predominate. Located eight-hundred meters above sea level, the vineyard is managed under strict organic viticulture protocols to ensure fruit concentration. Winemaker Goyo García Viadero utilizes a low-intervention spontaneous fermentation with native vineyard wild yeasts in a small foudre. It undergoes a natural aging process in neutral wooden barrels to allow the structural elements to settle naturally.

It pour a deep ruby color, releasing rich aromatics of black cherry, dark plum, and wild Mediterranean herbs. A full-bodied, robust frame pairs concentrated dark fruit flavors with a firm, integrated tannin profile. Savory notes of ground black pepper and leather blend smoothly into a dense mouthfeel across the mid-palate volume. A clean thread of natural acidity runs underneath, keeping the mouthfeel fresh and light. It finishes completely dry and long, leaving a lush impression.

Goyo Garcia Viadero comes from one of Ribera del Duero's long-established wine families, but his own project moves deliberately away from the region's modern reputation for heavy extraction, new oak and highly polished cellar work. The son of the founder of Bodegas Valduero, Goyo began his independent estate in 2003 with old family parcels around Gumiel del Mercado, working with Tinto Fino, Albillo and other local varieties in some of the highest, coolest sites of Ribera del Duero. His focus is on recovering the older voice of the region: centenarian vines, organic farming, native yeasts and patient work in a cold underground cellar. In the vineyard he avoids chemical inputs and pushes for freshness rather than overripeness; in the cellar he uses gentle handling, long fermentations, old barrels, no fining or filtering, and little to no sulfur. The wines are direct, savory and quietly radical for Ribera del Duero, shaped less by power than by altitude, limestone, clay and the memory of how the area tasted before modern fashion took over.
