Sourced from the steep terraced slopes of Coteau de Cevins, this alpine white wine co-ferments five native varieties including jacquère, roussanne, mondeuse blanche, altesse, and pinot gris. Winemaker Brice Omont manages the rows under strict biodynamic principles to preserve natural acidity. The hand-harvested fruit undergoes spontaneous native fermentation in stainless steel and Stockinger wood foudres, skipping fiberglass vats. This low-intervention process allows the intense mineral architecture of the schist soils to speak clearly.

It pours a bright straw color, releasing clear aromatics of apricot, pear, orange blossom, and flinty undertones. On the palate, an elegant, medium-bodied frame balances the richness of roussanne with the freshness of jacquère. A zesty, high-energy citrus acidity slices directly through the silky texture, providing excellent structural tension. Subtle notes of toasted nuts and deep salinity develop nicely as the liquid breathes. It finishes long, dry, and saline, leaving a persistent trace.

Domaine des Ardoisières is a defining estate of modern Savoie, born from the restoration of abandoned mountain terraces above Cévins in the late 1990s. The project was initiated by Michel Grisard and has been led by Brice Omont since 2005, with vineyards farmed organically and according to biodynamic principles on extraordinarily steep, rocky slopes. The domaine works Alpine varieties including Altesse, Jacquère, Mondeuse, Persan and Mondeuse Blanche, often in field-inspired blends. Native fermentations, restrained sulfur and gentle élevage preserve the wines' vivid acidity, herbal detail and striking mineral intensity, making them reference points for mountain wine.
