Cirelli Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo 2023
Azienda Agricola CirelliGrape: Montepulciano
Vintage: 2023
Type: Rosé
Farmed organically in the province of Teramo, this traditional dry rosé is made exclusively from hand-harvested montepulciano grapes. The estate manages the harvest manually in small baskets, utilizing a direct press or a brief skin maceration depending on the vintage characteristics. Spontaneous fermentation occurs with native wild yeasts at cool temperatures in neutral tanks, avoiding modern chemical corrections. This low-intervention process focuses on capturing the natural texture and fresh fruit generated by the local clay-limestone soils.
It pours a deep red-pink color, releasing pungent aromas of wild berries, field flowers, and subtle Mediterranean spice. A medium-bodied frame pairs concentrated red fruit flavors with a distinct, saline mineral baseline. A snappy wave of natural acidity runs through the mid-palate, keeping the fluid mouthfeel thoroughly refreshed. The light fruit extraction provides a gentle grip that structures the clean finish nicely. It concludes completely dry, leaving a savory trace of stone.
