Charles Dufour has been something of a breakout success in the world of natural wine. He represents a new generation of small vignerons. On top of his own vineyards, which are bottled under the Bulles de Comptoir label, since 2010, he has been making wines from some of his family's vineyards situated in Celles-sur-Ource under his mother's name, Françoise Martinot.

Organic viniculture, Herbicide-free farming, Traditional hand picking, and without added sulfites. This blend brings together not only all the parcels of the estate, but also its entire history from 1982 to the present day. With wines from the 2022 harvest (65% of the blend volume), fermented and aged in barrels for one year; reserve wines from a Solera system initiated by Charles in 2010, encompassing the 2010 to 2021 vintages (25% of the volume); and finally, for the remaining 10%, wines from a perpetual wine library created from his father's wines, produced between 1982 and 2009. Bottling took place in February 2024 and disgorgement in May 2025.

Charles Dufour is a highly respected grower-producer of natural Champagne in the Côte des Bar region of southern Champagne, France. Taking over from his family in 2010, Charles quickly adopted organic and biodynamic farming practices, which are challenging in the region's climate. He is known for crafting authentic, terroir-driven Champagnes with a minimalist approach in the cellar. Dufour uses only native yeasts for fermentation, performs long lees aging, and adds minimal to no sulfur. The wines are unfined and unfiltered, expressing the purity of the fruit and terroir.
