Crafted by winemaker Jim Binns, this California red blend combines syrah, mourvèdre, grenache, and a touch of viognier. Sourced from Central Coast vineyards, the fruit benefited from a cool growing season that allowed for deep phenolic maturity while preserving acidity. The grapes were fermented with native yeasts using whole-cluster inclusion and aged in French oak barriques to integrate the rich components. This cuvée captures a harmonious balance between fruit concentration and structural poise.
It displays an inky purple-ruby color, releasing aromatics of blackberry, cassis, ground black pepper, and lavender. On the palate, a full-bodied texture delivers dense flavors of dark plum, licorice, and savory cured meats. A fine-grained tannin backbone provides firm support across the mid-palate without feeling heavy. A clean thread of natural acidity cuts through the volume, keeping the rich mouthfeel fresh. It finishes long and dry, leaving a lingering impression of berries and spice.
