Grape: Malbec
Vintage: 2018
Type: Red

Farmed sustainably in the clay-loam soils of Luján de Cuyo, this red wine showcases an old-school approach to malbec. Gabriela Furlotti manages the centenarian vines to target low yields, ensuring high natural concentration in the hand-harvested fruit. Spontaneous fermentation occurs with native wild yeasts in neutral concrete tanks, avoiding modern physical corrections. Aged for a year in used French oak barrels, it delivers an authentic century-old site identity.

It shows a deep ruby hue, releasing a sophisticated bouquet of dark cherry, plum, baking spices, and licorice. On the palate, the medium-bodied frame is structured and balanced, pairing mature fruit flavors with a firm, integrated tannin profile. Savory notes of dried leaves and subtle earthiness blend smoothly into the fruit core across the mid-palate. A clean thread of natural acidity cuts through the volume, keeping the texture fresh. It finishes long, dry, and polished, leaving a mineral trace.

Finca Adalgisa is a boutique wine hotel and small winery located in the Chacras de Coria area of Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina. Housed in a converted 20th-century manor, the property is famous for its history, hospitality, and a very limited production of high-quality Malbec. The vineyards were first planted in 1916 by the Italian-Argentine Furlotti-Moretti family, which has owned the property for generations. In 2002, the family converted the estate into a hotel to preserve its historic Malbec vines from urban expansion. The winery's single product is a Malbec made from the century-old vines on the property. The winemaking is handled by renowned local winemaker Carmelo Patti, who prioritizes balance and terroir. The wine is aged in the bottle before release. Finca Adalgisa is considered one of Argentina's smallest wineries, producing less than 500 cases of Malbec per year. The wine is exclusively available to guests of the hotel.
