This dry white wine is crafted from the rare native Jura grape melon à queue rouge, a historic variation within the chardonnay family. Domaine de la Pinte cultivates this old plot on blue marl soils in Pupillin under certified biodynamic farming guidelines. The fruit is hand-harvested and fermented spontaneously using only native vineyard yeasts in neutral containers. This zero-makeup process focuses on capturing the natural texture and mineral components driven by the region's cool mountain climate.

It pours a pale straw-yellow color, releasing clear aromatics of tropical fruit, yellow peach, and white flowers. On the palate, a sleek, medium-bodied frame balances orchard fruit flavors with an underlying stony mineral core. A zesty, electric acidity slices directly through the round mouthfeel, providing excellent structural tension and freshness. The texture is smooth yet perfectly focused across the mid-palate volume. It finishes completely bone-dry, leaving an elegant saline impression.

Winery

Domaine de la Pinte was founded in 1953 through Roger Martin’s ambition to create an estate in the Jura near Arbois. The vineyards bring together the region’s characteristic varieties—Savagnin, Poulsard and Trousseau—with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Clay-limestone soils and the Jura’s marked seasons provide the setting for a broad range of wines. The property became an early advocate of organic cultivation, converting its vineyards in 1999 and later placing biodynamics at the center of its agricultural approach.

That commitment supports a range that explores more than one idea of Jura wine. Whites, reds and vins jaunes allow different grapes and aging traditions to show their character, from the delicacy of local red varieties to the depth of long-matured Savagnin. Across the estate, the connection between soil, farming and the finished wine remains the guiding principle. La Pinte offers an introduction to the Jura through a single family domaine, while preserving the diversity that makes the region distinctive rather than reducing it to one grape or one cellar technique.
