Grape: Nosiola
Vintage: 2024
Type: White

This skin-contact white wine focuses on nosiola, an ancient native variety from the Trentino hillsides. Elisabetta Foradori and her family cultivate the fruit under strict certified biodynamic viticulture protocols on poor limestone soils. The hand-harvested grapes undergo a prolonged maceration with the skins inside Spanish clay amphorae, known as tinajas. This traditional vinification allows the wine to develop natural phenolic stability and structural breadth without modern synthetic cellar additions or wood manipulation.

It displays a rich, luminous golden color, releasing complex aromas of apricot, wildflower honey, and citrus zest skin. On the palate, a medium-bodied frame balances an oily, smooth texture with a bright line of mountain acidity. Savory flavors of baked apple and roasted hazelnut interweave with a distinct vein of flinty minerality. The clay influence provides a detailed, structured grip that slowly unfolds across the tongue. It concludes bone-dry, leaving a lingering, persistent finish.

Foradori is a pioneering, biodynamic winery renowned for elevating the indigenous Teroldego grape to world-class status. Led by the influential Elisabetta Foradori since the 1980s and now by her children, the estate is known for its minimal intervention winemaking, vibrant wines, and commitment to expressing its unique volcanic and dolomitic terroir. Elisabetta is widely credited with rescuing the Teroldego grape from obscurity, transforming it from a common blending grape into a revered, single-varietal wine. The winery also produces exceptional white wines from other native and local varieties, including Nosiola and Manzoni Bianco. The estate has been farmed biodynamically since the early 2000s and was certified by Demeter in 2009. This holistic approach emphasizes biodiversity, a healthy ecosystem, and minimal human interference.
