Vin Noe Cote de Night Cote de Nuits Villages 2023
Vin NoeGrape: Pinot Noir
Vintage: 2023
Type: Red
This micro-domaine red wine is a pure expression of pinot noir sourced from sixty-year-old vines in Corgoloin. Winemaker Jonathan Purcell purchases the fruit from a sustainably managed plot that has transitioned into a biodynamic approach. The old vines dig deep into diverse soils composed of sand, gravel, and clay, locking in structural complexity. The winemaking involves a ten-day dry carbonic fermentation with whole clusters inside neutral vats, followed by nine months of maturation in old French barrels.
It pours a translucent ruby color, opening with a fragrant nose of ripe red cherries, wild raspberries, and forest floor. On the palate, the light-to-medium-bodied frame is fluid and balancing crunchy berry fruit with a fine-grained tannin structure. Savory undertones of white pepper and damp earth add depth across the mouthfeel without feeling heavy. A clean thread of alpine acidity runs through the center, keeping the profile lively and fresh.
