Jean-Yves Peron Casa Rossa 2022
Jean-Yves PeronGrape: Grignolino, Freisa, Barbera
Vintage: 2022
Type: Rosé
This low-intervention wine is crafted by Jean-Yves Péron using grapes harvested in Casale Monferrato within the Piedmont region. The unique vinification processes direct-press juice from grignolino and freisa, while the barbera component undergoes a traditional carbonic maceration. The three native varieties are blended before a natural maturation process takes place, aging for one year in three-hundred liter wooden casks followed by an additional year of bottle settling. It is bottled unfiltered and without synthetic alterations.
Falling cleanly between a rosé and a light red, it pours a translucent cherry-pink color with bright clarity. The nose is open and aromatic, offering clear notes of strawberry, red currant, and fresh pomegranate. A light-bodied, vinous frame pairs crunchy red fruit flavors with a snappy wave of natural acidity from the barbera. Soft, delicate tannins provide a gentle grip that structures the fluid frame beautifully for any season. It finishes crisp, dry, and persistent.
