Grape: 90% Glera, 10% Pinot Noir
Vintage: NV
Type: Sparkling

Crafted from a blend of 90% glera and 10% pinot noir grown on limestone-clay soils near the source of the Livenza River in Friuli, this sparkling rosé offers a dry, site-focused alternative to commercial Prosecco. Grapes undergo hand-harvesting followed by spontaneous primary fermentation using native yeasts. Secondary fermentation occurs in pressure-sealed autoclave tanks, where brief lees contact enhances textural depth while preserving crisp fruit definition. Finished with a focused 5 g/L dosage, it presents an ultra-clean, structural take on regional sparkling wine.

It pours a pale salmon pink with a persistent, fine bead. Bright aromas of wild strawberry, tart red currant, citrus peel, and crushed gravel emerge on the nose. The palate is light-bodied and electric, anchored by a core of fresh red fruit and a wave of snapping acidity. A subtle 5 g/L of residual sugar softens the crisp structure without adding weight, keeping the mouthfeel agile and precise. It finishes dry and mouthwatering, leaving a lingering mineral trail of sea salt and red berry skin.

This Friuli-Venezia Giulia based Prosecco wine is a unique collaboration with The Source. Void of all herbicides and pesticides, and grown on limestone and clay mixed with river alluvium, all the grapes are harvested by hand (a rarity with Prosecco DOC wine).

Sorgente Prosecco comes from a six hectare parcel of Glera vines located in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and a solid golf shot away from the Veneto border to the west, the vineyards sit only a few hundred meters from the natural spring (called sorgente in Italian) at the nascita of the Livenza River. Interestingly, we chose the name Sorgente because it means “Source” in Italian.
