In Cialla, the mild currents of the Upper Adriatic meet the Julian Pre-Alps and create a perfect microclimate for the production of age-worthy, elegant, and complex red wines.
In 1970, the Rapuzzi family saved the Schioppettino vine from extinction, and today Ronchi di Cialla has the reputation of producing wines of a unique character where terroir and tradition meet. Next to our famous Cru-Monopole Schioppettino di Cialla and Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso di Cialla, we can also count the RiNera, obtained from 100% Schioppettino grapes vinified in steel, along with Pignolo and Refosco.

The Ciallabianco in particular is a traditional blend of the Cialla Valley composed of Ribolla Gialla (60%), Picolit (30%) and Verduzzo (10%), recognized as DOC-Cialla in 1995 and a Cru Monopole of Ronchi di Cialla. Only in the best vintages - and in a very limited number of bottles-we vinify the grapes harvested from a few rows of our vineyard of Picolit to produce the very rare Sol: 100% dry Picolit. Power and elegance characterize this exclusive wine.

Ronchi di Cialla is the Rapuzzi family's estate in the secluded Cialla Valley of Friuli's Colli Orientali. Founded in the 1970s, the family became crucial to the survival of Schioppettino, helping rescue the native red grape from near extinction and establishing it as one of Friuli's most distinctive, ageworthy varieties. Today Pierpaolo and Ivan Rapuzzi continue to farm a biodiverse landscape and work with Schioppettino, Ribolla Gialla, Picolit, Verduzzo, Refosco and Pignolo. The wines are classical rather than fashionable, combining freshness, savory detail and remarkable longevity while preserving the agricultural identity of their valley.
