Matthieu Barret Crozes-Hermitage La Banniere 2024
Domaine du CouletGrape: Syrah
Vintage: 2024
Type: Red
The 2024 vintage is incredibly fresh and "juicy"—designed for high drinkability without sacrificing the peppery soul of the region. A classic, lifted Northern Rhône nose. It leads with violets and cracked black pepper, followed by an explosion of fresh blackberries, plums, and a touch olive tapenade. The palate is fruit-forward texture that is "crunchy" and vibrant. You get flavors of dark cherry and licorice, backed by a limestone-driven minerality. A long, fresh, and slightly savory finish. The tannins are remarkably smooth—a Barret trademark—making it much more approachable in its youth than many of its neighbors.
