WTF! type of wine. If you want to impress people in the know, join this! However, we are not into impressing. We are interested in the introspective qualities wine allows. These wines are special, they are wines of authorship, of intention. These are wines to be shared, intimately. Wines of mediation, as Alejandro would say “enjoyed in the company of oneself”

These winemaker-defined wines are precious and few. This is our smallest club, just a handful of bottles.

Azienda Agricola Valentini Trebbiano d'Abruzzo: The grape is not the boring typical Trebbiano that grows all over Tuscany and Lazio. This is the ancient and unique trebbiano d’Abruzzese biotype.

Reductive, flinty, these wines are mineral, creamy, bright, citrusy, with a unique coffee note.

"There may have been no greater cult figure in Italian wine than the late Edoardo Valentini, the mysterious producer of Italy’s greatest white, the mythic Valentini Trebbiano d’Abruzzo," declares importer The Rare Wine Co.

Giuseppe Quintarelli Ca' del Merlo 2017:  Grapes are harvested during multiple passages through the vineyard for the optimum quality of the different grape varieties and for different styles of wine. A single vineyard bottling, grapes are pressed immediately after harvest. After 3-4 days of maceration, primary fermentation starts with indigenous yeasts. Wine is racked and then sits until February. Wine is racked on to the lees of the Amarone which starts a second alcoholic fermentation (this process is called ripasso). After this fermentation, the wine is racked into large Slavonian oak barrels for seven years.
" The process for this red is the same as that for the Valpolicella. The additions of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, and Croatina in this bottling make it a more fruit-driven counterpart to the earthy, spicy Valpolicella." - Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant 55% Corvina and Corvinone, 30% Rondinella, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, Nebbiolo, Croatina, Sangiovese
